Sustainable Cotton
Our recycled nylon is transformed from various
materials, like carpets and used fish nets. The nylon is
cleaned, sorted, and converted into flakes, all before
undergoing a chemical or mechanical recycling
process. The new recycled nylon yarn reduces our
carbon emissions by up to 50% compared to virgin
nylon.
As of 2020, 100% of the cotton we use across our
entire product line is certified organic, recycled, or
Better Cotton sourced through the Better Cotton
Initiative (BCI). BCI works to improve cotton farming
globally, sourcing cotton through a system of Mass
Balance. All of our organic cotton is grown without
fossil fuel derived pesticides or synthetic fertilisers
and we also recycle more than 1.5 million pounds of
cotton each year.

your favourite footwear, apparel and accessories to last

new life when it's time. Nike is working to create an
integrated end-to-end process to resell, donate and
recycle finished product waste based on its condition

ensuring it flows to its highest use. Our desired state
will maximise refurbishment, donation, and recycling to
avoid landfills and waste.

fact. We’re not there yet, but we know where we’re
going—moving to zero and beyond. We think of it as
